End of Life Guidance

When it comes to end of life, most of us aren't prepared. We don't have our plans and wishes recorded, we haven't thought about the logistics of death and dying, and we don't understand our options when it comes to funeral services and memorialization. I believe that knowledge is power and "you don't know what you don't know." My end-of-life planning sessions are informative and empowering, with a blend of structure and open-ended conversation that will allow you to flow through the information in a way that makes sense to you. We will explore the emotional and practical aspects of end-of-life care.

Some questions that will be answered are:

-What does a "good death" look like to me? What medical care am I comfortable with, and who will make decisions for me if I become unable?

-Do I really need a will? Does it have to be done by a lawyer? What does an executor do after I die? How do I act as executor for someone else?

-What are my legal rights when it comes to cremation, burial, and choosing a funeral home? Can I wash and dress my own loved one prior to their transfer to a funeral home? Can I scatter my loved one's ashes?

-What actually happens at the funeral home, and what steps will I have to take in order to make arrangements for my loved one? What information will I need?

End of Life Guidance is offered over three 1.5-hour sessions, at a rate of $300 for an individual, $350 for a couple, or $450 for a small group (3-5 people). You will walk away with knowledge and, if desired, some completed documents on Advanced Care Planning, Wills & Estates, and End-of-Life/Death Care.
